Care with Dr. Pena was life changing. I was challenged with my Functional Movement Disorder (FMD) for multiple years, experiencing escalating symptoms, and felt that I had tried everything when my neurologist suggested The Recovery Project’s FMD Program. Now, being 10 weeks past this experience, I can say my symptoms are better, I can easily identify triggers, and I’ve met a wonderful team of people I’d recommend to anyone with similar challenges."
"Working with Dr. Pena as a component of the 5-day program was an integral part of my improvement, as his expertise in FMD is unmatched. The tools he teaches are relatable and can be applied immediately, something I valued having trialed so many options prior with little to no result after many weeks. I chose also to extend my sessions outside of the 5-day retreat which helped as a bridge between the TRP program and returning to life’s demands and pressures. I can confidently say my symptoms have improved by upwards of 90% and I would recommend anyone who is considering this program to give it a try, take a chance, and adopt the education provided in these 5 amazing days."
"Be open and willing to try what he teaches to give it a fair chance to reduce your symptoms. The more you share with Jahred, the more he can help. He is extremely knowledgable, caring, honest, and open. If he doesn't know the answer to a question he will say so. After explaining something he always offers the opportunity to clarify any questions you may have. He is one of the best therapists I have ever worked with. I could see from day 1 why TRP requires attending his session during their FMD 5 day program."
"I think during Day one counselor session it might have helped to say, some patients choose to add an additional 5 sessions since they have found it helps with acclimating back into daily life/stress/managing symptoms support and also provides the opportunity for additional training that patients have found helpful. Due to time constraints during the FMD week, patients have said that week 2 (additional 5 sessions) have been equally beneficial. There is a lot of information covered in a total of 10 sessions and more if needed."
